Coping Mechanisms

Fact: I become stressed fairly quickly/frequently.

ORLY?

When my stress levels peak, rather than freak out and cry, I usually resort to a few different activities — channeling my stress toward something (mildly) productive rather than allowing my teenage angst to get the best of me.

Coping mechanisms include, but are not limited to:

  • Applying/retouching my make up
  • Windexing counter tops
  • Laundry
  • Washing/drying/putting away dishes
  • Making my bed
  • Photoshopping
  • Alphabetizing anything
  • List-making
  • Clearing space on my Mac

Tonight was the ultimate clear out of my iTunes. I sat and weeded through thousands of songs… deleting doubles, corrupt files, old podcasts, and crap albums.

Final body count? 1,091.

Jeepers. That just sounds excessive.

Casualties include: Steps, The Clash, Suede, Slade, Sting, The Police, Five, Girls Aloud, Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver, a lot of extra Ramones tracks…

I feel better.
