Mogwai?
To everyone that’s ever teased me about my “Phone Voice” or my “Drive Thru Window Voice”… take this. “Sometimes you’ve gotta change your tone depending on who it is!”
I’d like to note that Seth Rogan is a merely a warm body in this sketch. He was funny in Pineapple Express, but I’m not entirely sure I wasn’t so dazzled by James Franco’s performance that I gave Rogan carte blanche to suck it up on screen. At any rate, give me Hader & Samberg any day of the week — they’re veritable geniuses.
I had to introduce Cassidy and Gray to Gremlins in order for them to catch the reference. Can’t believe they’ve never seen it. We still have yet to expose Cassidy to Encino Man. So many of our family’s inside jokes would make sense…

Little Kids In Comically Over-Sized Sunglasses.
I’m a nanny. I spend 10 hours a day, 5 days a week with 2 fabulous, hilarious, amazing little girls. In addition to many other things, this means that I have access to their funniest moments. Monday thru Friday, I live from laugh fest to laugh fest. It helps that these girls are not only cuter than cute, but they’re also incredibly intelligent. Things that are cute, miniature & smart are automatically funny. It’s an unwritten rule of the universe. Trust me, I’m a big kid. I know these things.
Take Addie, for example, and give her an over-sized pair of sunglasses.

Do You Like My Ponytail?
As a nanny to two precious busy little girls, I spend a LOT of time in the car, transporting my angels from Point A from Point B. This affords us ample time with Miss Aimee’s iPod… which is, in a word, magic.
After a few weeks time with the iPod set to shuffle, my girls have been exposed to my eclectic taste in music. Nothing gives me more joy than the following exchange:
Jordyn: “Miss Aimee, play the Ponytail song again!”
Me: (Beaming with pride) “Of course, J. Of course.”

How Come I End Up Where I Started?
How come I end up where I went wrong?
It’s no secret that I’m not a fan of Radiohead. Honestly, they’ve always bored me. True story. It’s the same way I feel about Coldplay — over-hyped, subpar ultra-sedative elevator music. Spare my ears, please.
And then I watched the Grammys this year. Consider me a (reluctant) convert.
